Liebherr has invested $45m in the expansion of its Newport News, Virginia, facility with work expected to commence in July 2018. The project, according to Torben Reher, managing director of Liebherr USA, further strengthens the company’s position in North America to deliver sustainable long-term growth and offers a consistent experience to customers across the United States.
The scheme will include the construction of three buildings on 28 acres to the company’s current manufacturing facility. They will cover over 251,000 square feet and will offer space for Liebherr USA’s new headquarters and administrative building, a production and workshop facility, and a warehouse and distribution building. The project is scheduled to be completed by Summer of 2020.
