(Richmond, Virginia) — Proving that stone furniture needn’t be clunky, the Kreoo collection from Decormarmi, an Italian company, looks remarkably light and sensuously sculptural. “In our market, you often see stone things that are functionally good, but aesthetically, the scale isn’t quite right or the little details aren’t there,” said Mark Whitfield, director of product management at Charles Luck Stone Center, which is selling the line in the United States. “Decormarmi has been able to get it right.”
The collection, which comes in a range of marbles, was created by the Italian designer Enzo Berti. It includes a console ($4,200 to $6,000) with an almost wafer-thin top; the Torre table ($1,800 to $2,500), which has a curvaceous pedestal base; and Pavé indoor or outdoor stools ($2,500 to $3,000), left, which have a stone base and pivoting wood seat.
