Man killed at Continental Cement’s Buffalo plant

A man died Tuesday after being injured at Continental Cement in Buffalo.

The victim was hit by a tow truck boom around 3 p.m. and suffered head trauma, according to a news release issued by the Buffalo Police Department. He died of his injuries after being hospitalized.

The accident happened while a contract towing company was attempting to move a vacuum truck from the property, 301 E Front St, Buffalo, according to the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration, which is taking part in the investigation. The victim was accompanying the tow truck operator.

The victim’s name had not been released late Wednesday morning, and further details were not  available.

The Scott County Medical Examiner’s Office is also investigating the death.
