A construction worker was killed in a construction accident at a gravel pit in central South Dakota – according to a report by KSFY. “Steven Pigsley of Black Hawk was working for a Rapid City subcontractor on the repaving of SD Highway 34. He drove his truck to the gravel pit where he got out to hook up a chain for a loader.”
The Stanley Court Sheriff’s Office says the 61-year-old loader operator did not see the driver get out. Pigsley ended up pinned between the loader and his truck.
Pigsley was confirmed dead at the scene. Authorities are carrying out an investigation.
