Martin Marietta Materials agreement on Poudre River asphalt plant

Martin Marietta Materials reaches agreement on its Poudre River asphalt plant

Fort Collins, Colorado officials and Martin Marietta Materials, operator of an asphalt plant on the Poudre River have reached an agreement on how the plant will be operated.

Martin Marietta Materials, owner of the plant at 1800 N. Taft Hill Road, has agreed to open its records to city inspection, reduce emissions from the plant and perform air-quality monitoring that exceeds state and federal requirements.

Fort Collins will require trucks involved with city projects to travel north of the plant on Taft Hill Road. The changes are in response to health and safety concerns raised by neighbors of the plant.
