Metso broke ground for its new, 4,000m2 service center in Mesa, Arizona.
The service center, due for completion in spring next year, will provide mining, construction and recycling services and repairs, as well as direct on-site repair and field service for customers in the southwest United States and northern Mexico.
Our service team has been established here since the mid-90s,” says Randall Reisinger, senior vice president, Metso service operational hubs for mining and construction, “which makes this location ideal for our employees and their families who already call it home.
“It’s a move that allows us to expand our physical capacity and our capabilities, while remaining in an area that’s served us and our customers so well for so many years.”
The service area will house two 55.5-tonne bridge cranes, as well as welding and machining bays. The bridge cranes will enable Metso to service and repair very large mining equipment, including grinding mills, crushers and screens.
The building will house 65 current office and field team members including some 40 new positions. Metso has leased a fully equipped site nearby to giving them a “jump start” on the expanded service.
