Mississippi Lime is to acquire Calera, Alabama lime business of Covia, in a move which will expand its presence in the southeastern US.
Mississippi Lime, a portfolio company of HBM Holdings, says the Calera business supplies high-calcium and hydrated lime products with more than 60 years of experience.
William Ayers, CEO of Mississippi Lime, says: “This acquisition advances our mission to provide world-class lime products and solutions through differentiated quality, technical expertise, and customer service.”
The Calera operation increases Mississippi Lime’s production facilities to nine locations, supported by a network of distribution sites throughout the country.
Anderson Fincher, CEO of HBM Holdings, says: “Southern Lime is a strong diversification investment for both Mississippi Lime and HB. The business exposes us to a different geography and end-use mix, in a market we understand well.”
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of regulatory approval.
