Missouri University offers course on SEC property disclosures

The Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Kwame Awuah-Offei is offering a course on new SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) mining property disclosure rules from 9-10 April.

Awuah-Offei, associate professor and program director of mining & explosives engineering, says: “Attendees will experience a combination of interactive lectures and real-life case studies and gain a better understanding of how concepts, such as materiality and risk, are incorporated into public disclosure of exploration results, resources and reserves.”

The course covers property disclosures, regulation S-K 1301(d), qualified persons and technical reports and summary disclosure obligations. There are also lectures on individual property disclosure and internal controls disclosure obligations followed by group exercises and presentations. The programme is aimed at middle to senior level engineers and geoscientists in roles that include chief engineers, resource managers, exploration managers and technical services managers. Aspiring engineers are also encouraged to attend.

The course will take place at the Millennium Student Center (MSC), 379 Millennium Student Center, One University Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63121.

For technical questions, please call Kwame Awuah-Offei at 573-341-6438 or email him at kwamea@mst.edu.
