Mountain Materials plans second quarry St Paul, VA

Mountain Materials is looking to put a rock quarry in St Paul, VA.

The proposed re-zoning location is a 150 acre property off of Highway 58.

The zoning request must be approved by the planning commission and then by town council.??A public hearing will be September 13.?? More than 50 jobs are projected to be created if the quarry goes in.??Mountain Minerals will have to conduct impact studies on the planned quarry.

Mountain Minerals officials have assured local residents that the quarry will have minimal impact.

Mountain Materials is a small crushed and broken limestone quarrying company in Castlewood, Virginia. It opened in 2005 and now has an estimated $260,000 in yearly revenue and four employees.
