MSHA extends comment period on workplace exam rule

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is extending the comment period and the close of the rulemaking record for the proposed rule addressing Examinations of Working Places in Metal and Nonmetal Mines (MNM), published on June 8, 2016 (81 FR 36818).

MSHA is extending the deadline for comments from September 6, 2016, to September 30, 2016.  The notice also clarifies and seeks additional comments on selected proposed provisions.

The document will be published in the Federal Register on Thursday, August 25th.  It will be available for viewing on Tuesday, August 23 at 8:45am at the Office of the Federal Register, Public Inspection Desk.
