August 24, 2017

The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) says that President Donald Trump has selected Wayne Palmer to serve as acting assistant secretary of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

Palmer is currently the chief of staff in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Labor (DOL). Palmer will be replaced by Nicholas Geale, DOL’s solicitor, according to the NSSGA.

Palmer joined the Trump administration on inauguration day serving as a Senior White House Advisor, leading the US Department of Labor’s beachhead team. During his career Palmer has served as a senior manager of congressional relations for the Center for Presidential Transition and as chief of staff to Sen. Rick Santorum and legislative director to Sen. George Voinovich.
