(UK) Newhaven Roadstone, a joint venture company between Tarmac and Colas, has acquired the assets and business of Tarmac’s asphalt plant in Littlehampton for undisclosed sum.The new enlarged business will be called South Coast Asphalt and enhance the existing relationship between Tarmac and Colas along the South Coast. The joint venture will significantly increase imports to the Littlehampton plant via the port. The deal will also help to secure the long term future of the plant and its staff.The deal follows the award to Colas of the 25 year Portsmouth PFI contract.
