Interstate Concrete and Asphalt has been denied permission by Bonner County Comissioners denied for a zoning change to operate a permanent asphalt plant in Sagle, Idaho.
The company already works a gravel pit and said it has a track record of being a good neighbor and keeping down the noise and dust concerns from other communities.
They also argue that the site has been there for years with no impact on home prices.
Testimony on both sides today at Bonner County Commissioners Public hearing in Sandpoint was emotional but the commissioners said the proposal did not meet county requirements for a zoning charge.
The site is currently rural-residential and the asphalt plant needed to be in an industrial zone.
