October 16, 2018

A rubber blending unit at North State Asphalt in Redding, California, caught fire and caused approximately $300,000 in damages, says the Redding Fire Department (RFD).

A report by KRCR News says the RFD was sent to a vegetation fire around 1:00pm on Saturday.

"When they arrived, firefighters found heavy equipment, specifically a rubber blending unit, on fire with no spread to vegetation," the report adds.

The RFD and Cal Fire responders extinguished the fire and all other resources were cancelled at that time. Crews remained at the scene for around an hour and a half.
