The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) has uploaded a podcast on Puerto Rico’s challenges and needs as it recovers from Hurricane Maria and Irma in 2017.
In this episode, the association talks to congresswoman Jenniffer González Colón, Puerto Rico’s Republican delegate in Congress. She is a member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.
“If we invest wisely with resilient infrastructure, you won’t use that money again on another disaster the next year,” she said. “That’s the importance of not just fixing or repairing but building back better.”
Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the US located in the northeast Caribbean sea and is around 1,000 miles southeast of Miami.
