NSSGA uploads podcast on diversifying highway funds

In a podcast, US congressman Rodney Davis, R-Ill, has likened the need for diverse infrastructure funding to the need for a diverse retirement portfolio.

During the National, Stone, Sand & Gravel Association‘s (NSSGA) latest episode, he says: “We, as a country, cannot continue to rely upon a very volatile source, and only one source, of revenue and that’s the gas tax. Your listeners have 401Ks. Not any of them, I bet, invest in just one stock.”

“Now’s the time to start getting people opportunities to have their ideas included in a more diversified and less volatile Highway Trust Fund portfolio,” Davis adds.

As new and more electric vehicles are brought to the market, he insists that it makes sense to plan for the users of tomorrow’s highways and roads.
