Oil prices will not diminish frac sand industry

Superior Silica Sands will not curtail its operations in Barron County during 2015, Chief Executive Officer Rick Shearer said Monday.

If anything, the Texas-based frac sand mining and processing company has plans to expand in the coming year, because it has the means to deliver its product to customers who need sand more quickly, and in larger quantities, than its competitors can deliver, Shearer said.
