Outstanding operations receive safety awards

September 1, 2017

The National Stone Sand & Gravel Association has made its 2017 Safety Excellence and Sterling Safety Awards.

“Aggregates operations across the country continue to demonstrate a remarkable commitment to safety by reducing the industry injury rate for 16 straight years, with a record low rate of just 1.95 injuries per 200,00 hours worked last year.

“We will recognize these operations during the upcoming Legislative & Policy Forum/Fall Board Meeting next month to highlight our industry’s focus on the health and safety of our workforce,” said Michael W.Johnson, president, National Stone Sand & Gravel Association.

The association’s annual awards program recognizes aggregates operations throughout the United States for their extraordinary commitment to safety, their continuing performance of safe environmental practices and for their efforts and activities that continue to enhance the image of the industry.
