Sandvik launches Rotatary Blasthole Drill Selector app

November 22, 2019

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology has unveiled an app which provides a list of recommended drill rigs based on basic site condition and production requirement information.

Sandvik says the Rotary Blasthole Drill Selector app can be used in a mobile environment without an internet of cellular connection. Users can install the solution on mobile devices without needing to visit the app store or similar site by clicking on 'Install App' button when viewing the website via a mobile browser, the company adds.

Users can insert project information such as mine location and material mined and then select metric, drilling method and specifications. They can then click submit for a list of recommended rigs.

A contact us button allows users to request a quote from Sandvik. This will send contact information and project specific details along with the list of recommended rigs to a company representative who will contact users to further discuss specific needs.

Rob Ewanow, marketing manager, rotary drilling division at Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, says: “In two screens and a couple of clicks customers can get an overview of which drill rig may help satisfy their needs. If they want to further discuss their requirements with their Sandvik representative one click is all it takes.”

The app is accessible via desktop or mobile device and can be used as a website or as a mobile app. It is available here.
