Seeking:  Ready Mix Sales Manager
 
Summary
 
Manages personnel, equipment, and customer accounts within the sales, service, and quality control departments of the Ready Mix Concrete Company by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  • Develop and nurture a “Safety Culture” 
  • Develop and maintain a positive and supporting relationship with Operations manager 
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
  • Manage the Concrete operating company in accordance with the policies, principles, philosophy, and procedures established by Corporate Management with regard to personnel, customers, facilities and equipment. 
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials and employees to insure safe operations and control production costs. 
  • Reviews production goals and product quality, while working with Operations Manager to modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance product quality and profitable operations.

  • Assigns sales territory and duties to sales representatives
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy in promoting sales
  • Works directly with the Operations Manager to effectively quote work while utilizing production and delivery equipment in a productive and fiscally responsible manner.
  • Works with Production Managers and merchandise sales team to effectively find and quote projects while looking for ways to improve and promote quality and service.
  • Understands and competently reviews income statements and sales and marketing data with Production Managers and Sales team
  • Develops and implements marketing strategies for existing and new product lines
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products
  • Prepares, coordinates and conducts sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions
  • Writes clearly and informatively; response well to correspondence such as e-mail and texting; able to read and interpret written information including plan drawings.

  • Meets with key clients, Architects, and Engineers assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Coordinates communication between sales department and other sales related units; Quality Control, Operations, Safety, Accounting
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; meets commitments.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions.

  • Have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record and operate a vehicle safely.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities
 
  • Directly manages, in cooperation with the Vice President of Concrete Companies, the employees in the Sales and Service Department and Quality Control Department.   
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Service or a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience and five (4) years related experience in the ready mixed concrete, block, precast, or building materials industries.
  • ACI Grade I Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification or equivalent.
