Shale Support acquires two mines in Kinder and Central Louisiana

Shale Support has purchased two natural mines in Kinder and Central Louisiana. The company says these additions increase its total capacity from two million to five million tonnes annually.

Jeffrey Bartlam, Shales’s president and co-founder, says: “This expansion allows us to continue our strategy of being the high-quality, low-cost proppant supplier to the Haynesville, Austin Chalk, Marcellus/Utica and Eagle Ford shale plays.”

Shale expects to increase the capacity of both mines to three million tons by the first quarter of 2019, which will give the organisation six million tonnes of capacity.

Kevin Bowen, Shale’s co-founder and CEO, says the mines produce a clay-free, white sand that will maintain the product standards of the company’s brand Delta Pearl.

Delta Pearl is the frac sand used by operators and third-party suppliers in the Marcellus/Utica, Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville/Tuscaloosa shale play.
