Tennessee-based Smyrna Ready Mix has acquired seven concrete plants from a South Pittsburg, Tennesee-based company,
Sequatchie Concrete Services transferred ownership of plants in Columbia, Crossville, Estill Springs, Spring Hill, Cookeville, Lewisburg and Shelbyville.

In September 2014, Smyrna Ready Mix acquired Nashville-based Metro Ready Mix, which boosted Smyrna Ready Mix’s assets by 14 concrete plants across six counties in Middle Tennessee, along with equipment and construction materials.
Before acquisition of Metro Ready Mix, Smyrna Ready Mix owned 17 concrete plants in Tennessee and Kentucky.
The addition of Sequatchie Concrete Services brings the total to 38 plants and more than 300 employees.

Smyrna Ready Mix was founded by Mike and Melissa Hollingshead in 2001 to service contractors and homeowners in the Rutherford County area. The company is a provider of ready-mix concrete, concrete pumping, as well as construction products and materials.
