June 4, 2018

Tennesse-based SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete) has acquired Piqua Concrete. According to a report by Dayton Daily News: "This marks Nashville, Tenn-based SRM’s third buyout of an Ohio-based company in the past 12 months, SRM said in an announcement. In 2017, SRM purchased All-Rite Ready Mix and Spurlino Materials."

In a statement, Jeff Hollingshead, SRM chief executive, says: "The Piqua brand has meant so much to the growth of these communities for nearly five decades. For the foreseeable future, we will be operating in these areas under the Piqua name.”

The report says Henry Ernst founded Piqua Concrete in 1972 in Piqua where it continues to operate. The company had three other plants in Englewood, Fairborn and Germantown.
