Patrick Dunne joins the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association as director of communications.
He will lead the day-to-day communications efforts for the association.
Dunne was named to the position August 7 , and part of his job will be to help with the organizations new three-year Rocks Build America strategy plan, the association says.
“Our industry must have a strategic communications plan that educates policymakers and the public about the aggregates industry – an industry that creates jobs and builds an infrastructure for economic growth in America,” says association president Michael W Johnson said.
“Patrick is a welcome addition to our team and complements our ongoing strategic communications efforts as we continue to implement our Rocks Build America strategic plan.”
Dunne, a graduate of Penn State University, joined the association after a stint as the Assistant Director of Communications at the American Academy of Physician Assistants where he led the organization’s public outreach, media relations and branding strategies. He worked in communications at the National Business Aviation Association.
“Aggregates are the foundation for our country’s infrastructure,” Dunne said. “I look forward to bringing my experience to this great industry and leading efforts to promote a clear understanding of their critical nature to federal policymakers, media and communities across America.”
