July 3, 2020

Tire and rubber company Bridgestone has purchased iTrack Solutions from UK-based Transense Technologies to provide its aggregates sector customers with mobility-related data to help improve operations.

Tomohiro Kusano, vice president and senior officer, G-MAA (mining, aircraft, agriculture) solutions business at Bridgestone, says: “This acquisition helps move Bridgestone closer to its goal of becoming a leader in sustainable and advanced mobility solutions.”

Bridgestone Americas says iTrack's tyre pressure monitoring system is designed for mining tyres.

It provides tyre temperature and pressure monitoring as well as customisable geofencing, speed alerts to help customers optimise their operations for increased productivity, the company adds.

Bridgestone entered an agreement with Transense in August 2019 and began referring off the road customers to the iTrack solution.

The company is to expand this offering to additional customers as it fully integrates the solution into its portfolio.

As part of the deal, all iTrack employees will join Bridgestone.
