Vulcan Materials donates $10,000 from mine rescue event to BrightStone

Vulcan Materials hosted its 2018 Southeast Region Mine Rescue competition in Franklin, Tennessee and pledged $10,000 to local non-profit group Brightstone. According to a report by Franklin Home Page: “Net proceeds came from team competition fees and sponsorships from participating companies, along with a gift from the Vulcan Materials Foundation.”

The report says BrightStone serves 21-year-old adults and over who have developmental disabilities. The organisation provides a curriculum in job training and life-long learning.

David Clement, president, central division, Vulcan Materials, says: “We are proud to host the mine rescue contest in Franklin, and we are proud to support Franklin-based BrightStone, as they meet the needs of the community by offering quality programs to adults with special physical and personal needs.”
