Vulcan Materials non-exec chairman Donald James to step down this year

Don James, non-executive chairman, will step down from Vulcan Materials at the end of the year.

Don James told shareholders he would step down as chairman by the end of the year, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

James became chairman of Vulcan Materials in 1997 and transitioned to non-executive chairman in January when he retired as an employee of the company.

James was hired as Vulcan’s senior vice president and general counsel in 1992 and served as chief executive from 1997 until 2014.
