A slew of quarry permits were approved at the Sheridan County Board of Commissioners, Wyoming, meeting Tuesday morning, reports the Sheridan Press.
Six different quarries were approved by the commissioners, most of which without extensive discussion with the exception of the JC Ranch quarry located near Big Horn.
Local resident, Paul Del Rossi, presented his concerns regarding dust caused by trucks and operations on Beaver Creek Road near his home.
In response to Del Rossi’s concerns, the commissioners agreed to extend dust suppression on the road near his house. While the quarry permit was approved for 20 years, Commissioner Bob Rolston said that if any issues arise from dust in the future, the commissioners would have the right to summon the owners of the quarry back in front of the board for reassessment of the permit.
